Memoir-in-Progress

In 2005 I realized I looked like a bodybuilder. Without weight training, my muscles were growing out of control. I’m writing the story of a hunt for answers, a hunt that got more and more urgent and that hit more and more obstacles. I finally hit a dead end when I realized that the condition would likely kill me soon if I couldn’t find a diagnosis and treatment. My long brush with death changed me and gave me a fuller life. I wish I’d gotten the good parts of my medical journey years before – and without the costs of the journey itself. Bits of my story appeared on “AC 360” in 2010 and on “60 Minutes” in 2012.
